Pakistani nationals in Afghanistan are cautioned to exercise extreme vigilance as off-late senior professionals working in different fields have been kidnapped. Pakistanis either considering employment positions or currently working in Afghanistan must take into consideration their personal safety and well being before accepting employment or continuing their residency in Afghanistan.

Important Announcement regarding launching of Online Processing Facility for issuance of National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis(NICOP):
It is intimated that National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched Web Based Application System named as "Pak Identity" for processing of National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) applications in order to facilitate Pakistani expatriates. It may also be noted that manual submission of NICOP application/payment has been stopped by NADRA w.e.f August 15,2015.

Advisory for Pakistani Citizens:
In view of evolving political and security situation in Afghanistan, Pakistani citizens in Afghanistan are advised to exercise utmost caution in their travel and working places to ensure their personal safety and well-being. Pakistanis are advised to restrict their movements, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities and refrain from indulging in any provocative argument with local Afghans.
Advisory for Pakistanis Nationals:
Pakistanis traveling/working in Afghanistan are advised to avoid taking pictures or carrying cameras while outdoors. Several instances have been reported where Afghan security personnel have harassed and arrested Pakistanis for taking pictures or carrying cameras. Possession of cameras or taking pictures provide an excuse to them to harass Pakistani nationals in the absence of any other provocation. All Pakistani citizens are advised to keep their employers and the Embassy informed in case they face any harassment.

In view of the current security situation, Pakistanis living and working in Afghanistan are advised to exercise maximum caution in order to ensure their personal security, safety and well being. Following are some of the measures Pakistani citizens may observe:
- Restrict movements and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities.
- Respect the local laws, traditions and sensitivities.
- Avoid participation in political activities/ discussions.
- Carry valid identity / travel documents all the time.
Unusual alarm is however unnecessary as most of the current threats are common to all foreigners and even locals.
