Advisory regarding Malicious fake calls to Pakistani Community Members :

It has come to the notice of the Ministry that Pakistani Community in some countries is receiving malicious fake calls from our Mission's telephone exchange numbers. The fake caller abused and threatened the Pakistani community members demanding money, failing which they would be arrested by the local police.

The distinguished community is therefore, informed that if any member receive such call, embassy may urgently be informed in order to avoid untowards incident. Thereafter, the fake call number would be shared with the local concerned authorities for varification and identification of the number.

The above information is shared for the welfare and security of Pakistani community based in Afghanistan.


Important Announcement regarding launching of Online Processing Facility for issuance of National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis(NICOP):

It is intimated that National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched Web Based Application System named as "Pak Identity" for processing of National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) applications in order to facilitate Pakistani expatriates. It may also be noted that manual submission of NICOP application/payment has been stopped by NADRA w.e.f August 15,2015.

Advisory for Pakistani Citizens:

In view of evolving political and security situation in Afghanistan, Pakistani citizens in Afghanistan are advised to exercise utmost caution in their travel and working places to ensure their personal safety and well-being. Pakistanis are advised to restrict their movements, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities and refrain from indulging in any provocative argument with local Afghans.


Advisory for Pakistanis Nationals:

Pakistanis traveling/working in Afghanistan are advised to avoid taking pictures or carrying cameras while outdoors. Several instances have been reported where Afghan security personnel have harassed and arrested Pakistanis for taking pictures or carrying cameras. Possession of cameras or taking pictures provide an excuse to them to harass Pakistani nationals in the absence of any other provocation. All Pakistani citizens are advised to keep their employers and the Embassy informed in case they face any harassment.


Advisory for Pakistani citizens in Afghanistan:

In view of the current security situation, Pakistanis living and working in Afghanistan are advised to exercise maximum caution in order to ensure their personal security, safety and well being. Following are some of the measures Pakistani citizens may observe:

  • Restrict movements and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities.
  • Respect the local laws, traditions and sensitivities.
  • Avoid participation in political activities/ discussions.
  • Carry valid identity / travel documents all the time.

Unusual alarm is however unnecessary as most of the current threats are common to all foreigners and even locals.
